Wow, I don’t know when I have heard such bad singing. This sounds like a grown-up version of Sesame Street. I am not one of those boring people with no sense of humor… I promise. But I fail to see the humor in this musical. Bad writing and bad singing combine to make a work that is seriously appalling in its lack of skill and talent. I don’t even know why I am bothering to rate this.

This is the trashiest musical (excuse me, I don’t even consider it a musical) that has ever been put out. It should be destroyed and burned. It is downright disgusting and horrible and any civilized person would not listen to such garbage. I would have given it -5 stars, but it wouldn’t let me give below a one (and it doesn’t deserve it.)

If this CD is anything like the production we saw in Las Vegas, forget it! Unless you want to be preached to, that is, and by muppet-like characters to boot. You wouldn’t expect anything but the best performance in Vegas; the tip off should have been that we were able to buy tickets within the hour–not a good sign. We left at intermission. /sl

I wish it would let me give it a ZERO!!!!!!!!I can’t even think of one word to describe it. It is absolutely the most dreadful and offensive musical I have ever heard in my life. (If it even is a musical). I have no idea why it won Best Musical at the Tony Awards when everyone knew Wicked was going to fly away with the top prize. Wicked is the best musical I have ever heard, but not this. This musical was also very offensive to my friends. and I thought they’d enjoy the profanity, puppet sex, and racial remarks this awful “thing” contains. Over the years, Broadway musicals have always been known to capture the heart and pull at the heartstrings. The theater is to make you relax, laugh cry, take you into another dimmension. Sure the show is cute at first but gets old very quickly. The plot goes nowhere. I am very sensitive, and this cd was extremely rude, crude, andterrible. Especially “If You Were Gay”. The terrible songwriters of this musical made it a joke that someone is gay. Making it sound like that is a bad thing- AND IT’S NOT. It is extremely racial. Making fun of accents. Like Jappenese accents, and things of mexican bus boys, etc. It is terrible that such idiot composers could make that into a musical, on broadway and most of all-INTO THE PUBLIC. Why do people find racial remarks humorous? Laughing at someone who is gay? I dont atleast. Maybe I am missing out. What has happened to theater these days? This show IS the biggest upset in the theater industry. I am snapping this cd in half. SAVE YOUR MONEY! GO BUY WICKED, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, SPAMALOT, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, SPELLING BEE, ANYTHING BUT THIS TERRIBLE..”THING”!! DONT SEE IT! GeT iT oF bRoAdWaY aS sOoN aS yOu cAn!!!!!!! DONT BUT TICKETS!!! GO TO WICKED!

Everyone who watched the Tony Awards probably agrees with me that the whole thing with Wicked not winning was a conspiracy. The only good song on this CD is “It sucks to be me” It’s a disgrace to the theatre industry. Wicked should have won!!!!!!!!
